"Huang Di Nei Jing" Su Wen

(Dr.Chen Yikui)

In the second decade of the 21st century, an interesting phenomenon has emerged. It is that various kinds of learning and books named after the "Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic" have come out in succession. It seems to have become the epiphany of the present. This seems to be a paradoxical but gratifying phenomenon in the eyes of Master Chen Yikui. As early as half a century ago, Master Chen Yikui, who had studied the Yellow Emperor’s Internal Classic for almost 60 years, had already developed an interest in this Huaxia Chinese Cultural Collection. However, in the atmosphere at that time, the wisdom of traditional Chinese culture was often prevailed to “fall behind”. "The superstition" denied this. In the circumstances at that time, the Yellow Emperor's internal classics was not only a manifestation of learning, but also a cultural waste that was dismissive in the eyes of so-called insightful people; but now this situation has clearly changed and people have begun to regain ancient wisdom. Valuable, this is a very gratifying phenomenon.

As early as 1949 AD, Master Chen Yikui devoted himself to collecting various versions of the Yellow Emperor's Internal Classics, from the manuscripts of the off-paged pages to the rare editions, and the spirit and material resources spent in the collection of these versions. You can only use your best interests and describe yourself. As early as the 1970s, since the study of acupuncture began to flourish in the world, Master Chen Yikui had already completed the finishing of “the spiritual meditation” in “the Yellow Emperor's Internal Classics”. In cooperation with the US Navy Second Research Institute in East Asia that year, he was able to implement acupuncture and moxibustion. All over the world, and recognized by the World Health Organization, has contributed to the achievement of acupuncture as a part of Western medical insurance system. This is one of the early achievements of Dr.Chen Yikui’s mastery of the Yellow Emperor’s internal classics theory.

Later, after decades of hard work, Master Chen Yikui reorganized and revised another chapter of the Yellow Emperor's Internal Classics: "Su Wen Q". It was finally completed, and this monumental cultural masterpiece was presented in a modern look.

The difficulty in sorting out the difficult tasks of the Yellow Emperor's Internal Classics lies in the fact that it is an out-of-print work that was originally thought to have died. The versions that have been circulated in later generations are finely divided and the content is controversial. In addition, the history of the Yellow Emperor's Internal Classics has been more than two thousand years ago. The characters used in that year have been very different from the modern ones. Many ancient characters have long been lost. For modern readers, it is difficult to understand. Therefore, Master Chen Yikui compared all the verbal versions one by one. Words that were missing or lost were verbatim, and the texts on the Kangxi Dictionary were used as the main basis, and the ancient texts were no stop note, it is a punctuation mark, and its words and sentences are clearly segmented to present a face that modern readers can understand.

Another even more arduous task is that the sounds of many ancient Chinese characters are often confused by modern people. Although they are explained in the ancient books such as Shuo Wen Jie Zi, they still make people feel uncomfortable to read. Therefore, When Master Chen Yikui revisited the Su question, he added the phonetic symbols to all the words and sentences. In this way, reading the public can be clear at a glance, and it can also be closer to this great work of the Chinese culture.

Compared with the revision of most of the Yellow Emperor's Internal Classics, the biggest difference between Master Chen Yikui's work in organizing and arranging this prime question is not adding any annotations. Over the past several thousand years, the people who had organized the Yellow Emperor's Internal Classics were as vast and varied as the stars, and most of them added their own comments and opinions. This is a matter of opinion. We will not comment here. The reason why Master Chen Yikui did not give any comments is because the learning in the entire Yellow Emperor's Internal Classics is profound and profound, each has its own interpretation method. The most important is that it is not a learning system written for a certain time or space. The same content will have different answers at different times and different locations. An example we often hear is: “in south is an orange, in north may not be” Even plants of the same species, in different places and environments, may become different species. Some things may not be worthwhile in A. However, when you arrive in B, you may be worth a thousand dollars. The same is true of the extensive and profound contents of the Yellow Emperor's Internal Classics. It provides a convention that is universally accepted, but different answers may appear after adding different parameters. Therefore, it is in fact meaningless to make a single commentary on time, place, and object. For this reason, Master Chen Yikui left the commentary blank, presenting the original appearance of the original question, and other supplements and interpretations. Therefore, the masters who are left at various locations and times in the world can reach people freely.

Whether it is the Huang Di Nei Jing, Su Wen, Ling Shu, or the highest wisdom of millions of kinds of Chinese culture, comes from the I Ching. The theory of immersion in the Book of Changes is actually the “universal field theory” that western scientists have not been able to dagger with, and it is the ultimate formula that can explain everything in the universe. The various theories in the Yellow Emperor's Internal Classics narrowed down the scope of the theory, which was mainly set for the human body, that is to say, its theory was defined to apply only to human beings. In the course of master Chen Yikui’s nearly 60 years of research, the most frequently asked question is “What is the Yellow Emperor's internal theory talking about?” To put it bluntly, it is actually very simple.

The operating mechanism of the human body is very much like an equilateral triangle in the concept of the Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic. Everyone who has read geometry knows that the three corners of an equilateral triangle are all sixty degrees. A normal human body is theoretically in a state called "equilibrium," which is the "equilibrium." In Chinese medicine and Chinese culture, it is called "flat" or "medium," which means a perfect balance. But in fact, the true human body rarely sees such a perfect state. Just as one of the corners of an equilateral triangle is no longer sixty degrees, the other two corners will change their angle. If the three corners of this "positive triangle" are called angle A, angle B, and angle C, angle A represents the mental state, mind state, or nervous system of the human body; angle B represents the torso of the human body. Extremities, limbs and other external limbs, angle C represents the internal meridians of the human body. Among these three angles, there are four different classifications. For example, if angle A is divided by the anatomical nervous system, it can be divided into autonomic, vagal, sympathetic, and parasympathetic.

Looking at the Suwen articles of the Yellow Emperor's internal classics, we talked about how to obtain balanced knowledge in these three corners and twelve different categories. How to make an angle change in one of the corners, and to restore it to the original state by improving the angles of the other two corners, so as to achieve the most perfect "flat" and "medium" state is the essence of the entire Yellow Emperor's internal media.

Modern science has undergone gratifying changes after experiencing triumphalism and disdain for the arrogant attitude of ancient wisdom. In recent years, more and more scientists have begun to value the value of ancient wisdom and no longer recognize the ancient times. The idea must be behind modernity. Medical scientists began to discover the hidden passwords of incurable diseases in traditional medicine; scientists could not find the answer from "chaos" more than once after they could not find the answer in "precision." At this crucial moment of an important golden transition point, Master Chen Yikui hopes that the Yellow Emperor's Neijing Su question articles compiled this time can play an important role in solving the truth of human doubts in the 21st century.
